The band was signed to Fueled By Ramen and later signed to an advance from Island Records. The record From Under the Cork Tree is said to be the band's break through album earning them spots at the top of the charts. Their next album, Infinity On High gave the band a whole new sound and put them into the mainstream label of music. The band released one more album Folie à Deux and then announced their hiatus in 2009. Since then the memebers have been working on other projects. Pete is in a group called Black Cards.
