After sending out a couple demos, the members (singer/guitarist Martin Johnson, bassist Bryan Donahue, drummer John Keefe, and guitarist Paul DiGiovanni) caught the eye of some very important people, including Panic at the Disco's producer, Matt Squire, and My Chemical Romance's booking agent, Matt Galle. The Matts combined efforts got Boys Like Girls onto a PureVolume-sponsored tour, later followed by a trip to the studio to record their first album.
